WELCOME
Welcome to our parish website, here at St Vincent de Paul we strive to unit our local community in our weekly masses as well as the many services we provide through our ministries. Our parish comes under the Diocese of Brentwood, led by our Bishop, The Rt Rev Alan Williams.
Saint Vincent’s Catholic Primary school is also part of our parish. If you would like to know more about the deep and vibrant history of our Patron Saint, Church and Catholic faith, please select the HISTORY tab on the top menu screen. There is also our NEWS LETTER and EVENTS section where you can find the latest updates.
People visit St Vincent, Becontree, for its rich historical and spiritual significance. As the first Catholic place of worship on the Becontree Estate, it holds a unique place in the history of the Catholic Church in the area. The church played a foundational role in establishing the Catholic community in Becontree and Dagenham, serving as the "mother parish" for several other parishes in the region.

May the God of peace make you perfect and holy; and may your spirit, life and body be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
WEEKDAY MASS

Reflection of Readings - Sunday 15th February As we celebrate the 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus wants us to focus on the things that really matter. The thing that should matter the most is that we are all blessed in God's eyes. In Christ Jesus, everybody is somebody to God. We often think that happiness means having money and many possessions.

Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It's a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at Easter.

The six-week period is dedicated to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in preparation for this great celebration of Christ’s Paschal Mystery in the Easter Triduum.

During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms we practice self-control through fasting. We are called not only to abstain from luxuries during Lent, but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ's will more faithfully. We recall the waters of baptism in which we were also baptized into Christ's death, died to sin and evil, and began new life in Christ.
